How it works and why we do it
Toa Tumaini Foundation was founded to support local Tanzanian efforts surrounding education. In 2012 we opened Project Hope Nursery School in a small village called Kariwa. Through PH Nursery we were able to help 13 children enroll in nursery school, begin the education they deserve and prepare them for future schooling- all in our first year open. To date over 100 children have been educated through our nursery school program.
While Project Hope Nursery School experienced great success, we also recognized there was an unaddressed need as students began to age out of our nursery program. Following this realization in 2013, we launched a sponsorship program. This program was designed to help us assist older children in accessing primary and secondary school. With our primary school program we have been able to help over 40 children continue their education and pursue their dreams.
When we say "we" we mean all of us (you, our team in the states, and our team in Tanzania). Your partnership in this journey has been paramount.
To date your generosity has provided…
This is all possible because of regular people like you, but according to UNESCO, in 2018 there were still 1,895,125 children not enrolled in school in Tanzania. Let's work together to reduce this number. What can you do to give a community hope?
